The 21st Century poses lots of challenges for imparting quality education, so our Instructional Pedagogies need to be designed, revamped and oriented in such a way to overcome the challenges of the present century. The School Syllabus need not merely focus on the glorification of the ancient history-the then won battles and achievements, on the other hand it should gear the child up to fulfill his/her present as well as future needs.

For students of Class I to Class IX, Promotion will be granted on the basis of their overall performance during the academic session. Their performance will be tested through continuous / periodic assessments.

The general criterion for promotion to the next higher class is contingent on the student's grasping power of the subject of the class sufficiently well to understand and comprehend the syllabus of the next higher class conveniently without any pressure on his / her tender body and mind. A child should obtain at least 'C' Grade.

It is the philosophy of STANES SCHOOL - CBSE to bring out the best from the students and to unravel and unearth their hidden talents without putting them under too much stress and strain. So, parents should encourage their wards to participate in activities and competitions.

A student must carry his/her Almanac to school daily. The entire student's information should be completed and duly signed by the parents.

Students should come to school on time. Late comers should report to the Teacher/s-on-duty on arrival. The school gate will close at 8.45 am sharp.

Students should be proud of their school uniform. They should be clean and neatly dressed. Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals.

It is not advisable to wear or bring expensive items of jewellery or valuable articles.

Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments to school.

Attendance in the morning assembly is compulsory. Exemption from assembly will be granted only on medical grounds.

SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION

PT1, PT2 and PT3  Average of best 2-PTs (of 20 marks) in all subjects.

The marks secured by the students in Average of the Periodic Tests are finally converted to ten respectively.

Notebooks (5 marks) and Project (5 marks) shall be awarded in the Academic Session.

"NO HOMEWORK POLICY" has been followed in our school for classes I and II. Students learn the concepts of subject through various activities inside and outside the classroom. Learning is ensured to take place within the classroom with the help of worksheets, flashcards, quiz and group study.

Technology has become increasingly important in Today’s world. It is invaluable to not only learn how to use technology, but also to understand how to create it. Robotics is one such field. It connects students to several disciplines as it combines mechanical, electronic, electrical and programming skills. Our school has decided to venture into this innovative and creative domain this session.

Goals of the Program:

• Help students develop greater interest in Stem robotics (Science Technology Engineering, Math and Robotics) by exposing them to Practical concepts and implementation.
• Will provide a platform and support to apply and connect the theoretical learning with the world outside by making and designing their own innovative projects models.
• Enable students to become motivated and engaged in STEM fields through observation, experimentation, interference drawing and model making.
• Guide students to solve real world problems with an effective usage of concepts of Physics, Electronics, Hardware, Robotics, Sensors, Computer Software, Analytical etc.

The debating Club of STANES-CBSE with a membership of 50 competent debaters across classes VI-X is a coveted club, each member trying to carve a niche in the battle of wits and words. The club is a walking think-tank, abreast with the latest styles and different formats of debating. The unbridled curiosity and unfettered thought and expression have enabled the debating club to question the warranted, to debate pertinent issues and reach informed and substantial conclusions. Frequent workshops are held to familiarize the students with the ever changing format of debates and hone their public speaking skills.

The Club aims to provide a significant training ground for the development of its members. All activities have been designed to enhance the oratory skills of the students.

The club plans to have a stay back fortnightly to train/ guide the students for Inter- School and Inter- section competitions.

The Interact Club is a service club for young minds who want to make an impact in our school and community. They get together to find out what they can do to improve and help their school and community.

We have introduced this club in our Stanes School CBSE with the determination to do work with other individuals for a greater cause. This acts as a platform for our young Stanites to interact with eminent personalities and gain knowledge from them.

This would enable them to share their ideas and build leadership skills. Here our students learn the art of blending social and service aspects of the club.

Our students at Stanes School carries out service projects that benefit the community as well as the school, such as fund raisers for a variety of causes, blood drives, visits to nursing homes and homeless shelters. These projects expand their understanding of the world and promotes goodwill.

Dramatic Club nourished the acting skills of the students through one-act plays, drama, mimicry, performance of street plays etc.

An essential component of a healthy scientific enterprise is a scientifically literate and well educated youngster. Astronomy deals with study of heavenly bodies in general. The astronomical community has the potential to add significantly to the continuing effort of improving scientific literacy.

The need for rejuvenation of science and math in our school led to application of astronomy in our CCA curriculum. Astronomical concepts have universal appeal, inspiring wonder and resonating uniquely to inquisitive students. The interdisciplinary nature of astronomy has kindled the interest in our children.

The Editorial Board of STANES - CBSE comprise is of a team of teachers and student reporters. The board collects, collates and conceptualizes the presentation of various activities conducted throughout the year. Editorial Club helps to see the world through the eye of maximum perspectives. The aim of the Editorial Club is to train the young minds to pen down their thoughts and write articles on various topics.

The team comprises of students of Stanes School CBSE who collect, collate and conceptualize the presentation of the various activities conducted in the school throughout the year. The outcome of the first Editorial Club was the first edition of the school magazine STANITES CBSE.

With membership from Class VI-IX, the Club operates in collaboration with the Environment Education Center of STANES-CBSE to sensitize students on environmental problems through a wide range of activities like water testing, tree plantation campaign, exhibitions etc.

Maths club is an organization of students interested in promoting mathematics in the campus. It is a student initiated and teacher supported academic group dedicated to serve the needs and interests of all students interested in mathematics. Important aspects of learning mathematics are mastering practical techniques such as addition, division, measurement and so on. Another aspect of doing mathematics involves creativity and imagination.

The primary objective of the Brookdale Math Club is to foster a community of students around a common interest in mathematics. Club members will have opportunities to apply and improve math skills by participating in math competitions and learning circles. Members will also be able to engage with colleagues in the discipline by attending math conferences and will participate in social gatherings aimed at advancing interactions with their cohort.

Each Department in e-Spice is led by a teacher in-charge and a student in- charge and may comprise of 2-4 student members.

Each member chosen is an expert in the field to which he belongs. Movies being made in just a few hours for the concluding day of various events which are held in our school, and the near professional quality which they showcase clearly indicates the talent of the students.

e-Spice forms an elite team of computer enthusiasts, who have represented the school in various events at school, state and national level excelling in nearly all of them as well as securing top position, and hence bringing about nearly a dozen trophies in an academic session.

The main event of the club is the event named after the club itself.

e-Spice – The computer symposium held at STANES-CBSE is known to be one of the most competitive and popular competition of its type. Great prizes and heart racing competitions in areas of Quizzing, Digital Imaging, Programming, Crossword, Web Designing, Gaming, GD, Music Mixing are only a few of the things that attract many schools to participate. Recently, events like ” best out of e-waste” have been introduced to reinforce the “environment – friendly” aspects of modern development, an initiative, which would ultimately make students think twice before they dump e – waste.

e-Spice also conducts INTELLECT-an intra school I.T. symposium at house and section levels. This event aims to identify future members and leaders of the club and to also make sure that every student gets a platform to showcase his techno-talent.

The Quiz Club acts as a platform for our students in Stanes School CBSE to experience the absolute delight of proving ones hoary cells, exercising one's inquisitiveness, connecting the dots, thinking out of the box, arriving at an answer and expressing it innovatively within split seconds while working in teams to win the competitions.

Art Club is an opportunity for interested high school students to meets weekly on Monday and Tuesday after school to work on special art projects and to share art experiences with their peers. Art Club is open to all grade levels. This is a great place to explore your personal interests in art and get some hands on experience with art tools and materials if you are not in art class or if you just want more art in your life.

In addition to producing art that interests them, students will participate in volunteer and community service opportunities by working on art related projects to better their school and their community. The club will always meet after school in Class II-B from 3:30 to 4:25 p.m.

The goal of Art Club will be to:

• Provide an opportunity for art students to further their art making experience.
• Allow students not currently enrolled in art class to pursue art interests.

Olympiad Exams through SOF will be offered for all students from Class I onwards.

In our school, we introduced the language lab where the children played an active role in developing their pronunciation, accent, stress and all other aspects of phonetics. The use of language lab debunked the myth of overcoming the obstacles in learning a language by providing supplementary materials. In times of booming technology the computer lab at STANES - CBSE provide the appropriate platform to the students to be future technocrats. 1. Physics Lab : It is an ultra modern lab fully equipped with latest apparatus to provide the much needed facilities to the students from classes I to XII. The senior wing lab caters to the requirement of students from classes VI-XII with 35 students at a time. It also includes a dark room for experiments on light. Besides practicals, the lab is also used for activities of the Astronomy Club.

2. Chemistry Lab: The Chemistry Lab in STANES-CBSE is well equipped with all modern apparatus and chemicals required upto class XII. With the seating capacity of about 35 students in this well ventilated hall, the Lab also prides itself of having a balance room for volumetric analysis. Students are guided by qualified teachers and lab assistants to complete their projects and experiments.

3. Biology Lab : The spacious, well ventilated Biology Lab caters to the requirement of senior students. Keeping the latest syllabus in mind the models, specimens, charts, chemicals etc have been well planned. Besides, the lab is self sufficient with other necessary assets such as hot case, refrigerator and water bath etc. The well qualified teachers and lab assistants are yet another asset for the lab.

4. Middle School Science Lab: Situated in the middle wing, the middle school science lab is very well equipped and well lit and can accommodate 30-40 students at a time. The specimens, apparatus and chemicals are available to the students for hands on experience. The students of classes VI-VIII perform experiments and activities related to their lessons. Once every fortnight their classes are also conducted there. The availability of computer in the lab makes it easier for children to prepare and make project presentations. The middle school science lab is a place for learning, experimenting, exploring and relating theory to practical learning. It gives an opportunity to young minds to satisfy their science related curiosities.

The smart boards are installed in our school to provide the flexibility, enhanced teaching/learning experience, interact and share their ideas also to access online information and tools, to know the technology integration and to improve the communicative skill of every child.

An Auditorium is a central and vital space in schools. It is used for all types of formal assembles such as lectures, ceremonies and dramatic plays, concert performances and competitions. Although Stanes Schools infrastructure itself is a benchmark, its auditorium is like a feather to its hat.

The lavish spacious and comfortable auditorium is extensively used not only for students to showcase their talents but also for wonderful workshops, for talks given by skilled speakers for various celebrations that are held time to time.

It has a capacity to house 300 members. The electrifying sound system, acoustics and air-conditioning system adds to the ambiance of the auditorium. Our Annual Day was held in our auditorium that gave a remarkable perspective to all the parents wherein they were able to witness the remarkable performance of our students on the stage.

The world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players. As per the word of Shakespeare our open air theatre gives the students an opportunity to show case their talents.

Our theatre has wide board spacious elegant and vibrant dais which help the students to perform their enactment. Our school students are given fair opportunity to bring out their talents spontaneously. The students are engraved with high potentiality to deliver their ideas without any hesitation. The vibrant theatre boosts them to blossom their confidence, self esteem and self glorification.

The students of Stanes School CBSE surpass on various activities much as classical drama, dance, skit, one art play, dance dramas, soliloquies and musical events. Through these activities students assists to give their own aroma and vibrant colors to their performances. It elevates the students to work collaboratively and take up their responsibility sincerely and energetically. It paves the way for public speaking. In our school we have a discovery room that is filled with rich scientific knowledge, priceless artifacts and amazing collections that are done by our thought provoking children. We had just begin it with hand-on exploration in a quiet, safe and immersive exhibition space. The children were able to experience a guided exploration process. They were able to grab the imaginary observation of different artifacts. They were also able to enjoy and praise the hard work of the fellow students.

These learning environment provide opportunities for hands on experience that prepare the young minds for later science experiences. This ingenious room includes interactive exhibits, hands-on discovery boxes, animal displays and space for self-directed explorations of models and other materials.

The commodious conference room in our school STANES CBSE is a specially furnished room with adequate facilities to conduct all significant meetings such as collaborative, seminars, workshops, training, programmers, presentations and board meetings. It brings forth a platform for all staff members to execute and plan for the optimum outcome of our cherishing buds.

The infrastructure offers an array of latest technology and audio / visual including audio and video conferencing and projection screens, Blu-Ray / DVD players, computers, PC inputs and microphones. It is the platform where each individual is able to express their perspectives.

Conference hall paves way for social interaction and creates harmonious situation to develop all the potentials that is inbuilt in our teachers. Stanes School has an infrastructural modern aesthetically designed seminar room. It is well equipped with data projector, Wi-Fi systems, TV and Video, overhead and slide projector. In order to showcase the students talent, it is used as amphitheater. Seminar room is ethereal place to conduct various cultural programs, workshops, meetings, seminar, project presentation and training programs. The fully air conditioned seminar room is periodically used for conducting in-service training programs. It is well suited to accommodate 300 people approximately.
